shaping young minds.

For whatever fateful reason, some higher power gave me a Teaching Assistant position. I'll admit, I was hesitant at first because I don't particularly do well speaking in front of people, but I figured it would be a good experience. So far so good. I don't think my students hate me, yet, also good.

Today, however, was my first experience where I felt like I made a significant impact on their day.
I presented a lecture on the importance of remaining professional at all times, branding yourself, and remaining current with the times.

So, you guessed it. I showed the Rebecca Black video. BAM.
34 million views in 11 days and I'm responsible for at least 70 unaccounted views. I felt like a champion.

Posted on March 11th to "The Daily What", a blog that has loads of followers, something I hope to one day accomplish, this little ditty has taken the music and social media industry by storm. It's spreading like wild fire, not because it's good, but because it's THAT bad.

If you haven't seen it, I'll contribute to the madness. Here it is:

Chihuahua on the Run

Over the past couple weeks, I've been doing a lot of dog-sitting. While fulfilling my appropriate dog-sitterly duties, I've been taking lots of photos to send to the appropriate mothers.

Rory enjoys cruising around in my jacket when she's cold. and when I need coffee.

south by south what what!

It's that time of year again in Austin, when keyboards lose coloring on the letter "s" "x" "s" and "w", when all the coolest and hippest people around the country flock here to "check in" and #party, and when companies try to woo you with their free beer and hip new bands. Basically it's Spring Break on steroids, nowhere near a beach -- a grad student's dream.

I'll admit this is my first South By, but I've been on my "A" game when it comes to going to some pretty sweet networking events.

Cool companies, thank you in advance for showering me with schwag.

I've got some T-shirts, lots of free food, some jump drives, free beer, free music, light-up cups, coozies, and at least five pairs of sunglasses. It's only Tuesday -- sign of things to come!

here we go.

i came to the realization that i need to get it together, when i sent a friend to a partner's website to look at my work. that blows. so now that i've reached the tipping point, i guess it's all downhill from here. since i've taken this time to say absolutely nothing, now's a good time to hope that you'll keep reading. assuming you got this far.
